The Daily Notable (Web Desk) An anti-terrorism court on Saturday sentenced Abid Hussain to 27 years in jail for his firearm assault on former Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
Former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal was injured on May 6, 2018 when Hussain, 21, shot at him from a target of 15 yards amid a political gathering in his Narowal voting area.
The minister was airlifted to Lahore where he was treated for bullet wounds.
The suspect was captured and put on preliminary under anti-terror laws.
The court likewise awarded a penalty to the suspect for three years in jail for illicit ownership of weapons, yet acquitted four different presumes blamed for encouraging the aggressor in the firearm assault.
