The Daily Notable (Web Desk) Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been served a legitimate notice for taking on the appearance of a legal counselor for a television ad. Alongside Amitabh, the spice company that the performing artist has spoken to in the commercial, YouTube and a media house have additionally been served notices by the Bar Council of Delhi.
According to the notice, adequate precautions were not taken while filming the ad as it was aired without authority.
As indicated by the notice, satisfactory safety measures were not taken while taping the advertisement as it was publicized without authority.
The notice read, “You are required to immediately stop all such advertisements and also give an undertaking to the Bar Council of Delhi, Bar Council of India and other states Bar Councils that the lawyers’ attire shall not be used in any advertisement in future.”
The Bar Chamber likewise ordered for show-cause notice to be given inside 10 days, failing which there will be action against them.
The disputed advertisement features Amitabh Bachchan spruced up as a legal counselor in a dressing room with two junior craftsmen entering the scene and offering him pav bhaji.
The performer is then seen applauding the food, cooked with flavors of the brand he is endorsing in the advert.
In the past, Bachchan faced a similar situation when a jewellery advertisement featuring him and his daughter Shweta Bachchan had to be withdrawn after legal action was threatened against them for portraying bank employees in a negative light. The fight led by the All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, an organisation claiming to have a membership of around 3,20,000 bank employees, threatened to launch an agitation against the jewellery chain.
