In eternity, where there is no life, nothing can grow. Nothing can become. Nothing changes. So, death created time to grow the things that it would kill time and you are reborn but into the same life that you have always born into. Well, who knows? When you can’t remember your lives, you can’t change your lives, and that is the terrible and secret fate of all life. You are trapped, by that nightmare you keep waking up into.
Time is passing with every breathes. We are growing at the same rate. But our growth has two aspects. The first growth is the growth of our cells and tissues-the involuntary growth.
The internal changes are directly proportional to time, keeping the life constant. This growth is uninterrupted.
The second growth is the growth of our thoughts, perceptions, ideas, and thinking, called voluntary growth. But the same rule doesn’t go for the growth of our mind, beliefs and views.
What is the reason? What is the phenomenon behind this? Scientists gave many theories regarding time. Let’s discuss this thing called “time and growth”.
I shall discuss the growth of one’s mind, your mind & my mind. Growth is a continuous process. When a human being is given birth the time really passes slowly for the infants and the elders.
It has been observed that life becomes much steady during the growth of infants. Why is this so happen? It happens because the situation is not experienced before.
It may happen because the breathing rate of kids is faster than the adults. They respire more in one minute than the adults and are more active. They have more stuff to learn, experience, win, lose etc. Our mind has organized in such a way that when it experiences new things, new circumstances, time passes slowly.
Some people grow up earlier than others of their age. It is because life starts showing up them the true colors of people and reality. Some of them (the wise ones) adapt themselves to those changes as challenges, but sadly many of them don’t want to come out of their comfort zone and like to live in misery (without knowing the fact that what they are doing to themselves) and wish for exceptional things without giving up on the same tasks.
First Impression Is The Last Impression
We all remember the “first” things, like the first date, the first kiss, the first day of college, the first step towards any good thing.
This first makes all the difference. This first decides our last. Also, this first step makes change in the end. From childhood to teen years and then to adulthood, time passes slowly.
It is so, because at this time we are all busy in doing the meaningful first things of our life. We are busy in learning, busy in falling, busy in rising, busy in giving tries.
But are too busy to give up. We do struggle in this tenure, we face new challenges, we grow mentally. We focus on learning things and that’s why time seems to pass slowly.
We keep on growing and then there comes a point when we give up on learning and think that we have learnt enough to live. And we get trapped in the routine.
We think that there is not much left to learn and what we don’t know is not of our business or will not pay us. We get little or may be more than little selfish about ourselves.
We abandon people. We become less social and sometimes we socialize, but for the sake of attention. We forget what we like or love to do. We become less talkative.
And then become introvert kind of, and become obsessed with our place. We want people to come in our life and cheer us up. We forget that this is our own life and our responsibility.
Happiness & Satisfaction
This happens because of the sensation of fulfillment, the sensation of satisfaction, the essence of knowing it all. And ultimately, as we get trapped in a routine and then, when we look back, it seems that time has passed swiftly.
This is the trap that makes the time flies. As long as we keep on learning, time seems passing slowly.
But as soon we hit by the idea that is all what I ever wanted or needed we came to know that time flew. This all is short-termed sensation.
Then we isolate ourselves and become lonely. Then, new longings are given birth after very short lapse of time and there comes the disappointment panda. This disappointment panda makes us doubt our life. We feel like we didn’t live it fully. We end up with regrets.
On the contrary, when we have time, we don’t live it fully. We spend those moments thinking about the past or future and we just ruin our present in this worry. Worrying about past is anxiety and no amount of anxiety can change the past.
Tomorrow is not in our hand (but we prefer to risk our today for the completely unpredictable future). I’m not saying to ignore these two components of life. What I want to say is learn from yesterday, apply it today and make the future better.
When we grow old and get time to look back, we regret the chances we didn’t take. And sometimes we laugh at our stupid things and habits. When we grow old or whenever in life we stop learning new skills, new talents, time shows that how rapidly it passed.
We can stop the time and we can make it fly at any stage of life. The key of this control is in our hands. What is the key? The key is when we learn, we experience things for the first time, we put efforts and do hard work. We get so much busy to get full command at one thing and we devote our days and nights to that one purpose, during the suffering time seems passing slowly. But once we get all the command and master that thing, then, at the end when we think about that particular thing known as time, it has flown.
Short times like weeks, months, or years don’t show us the investment of time. When we are engaged in something, time passes slowly. But once we are done with every learning, time seems to fly. So, the secret to get command on the time is to learn the investment of time. Invest it in learning.
If you want time to stop then get yourself busy in as much stuff as possible. Because learning is a painful period and that’s why hard years don’t pass quickly. They pass slowly because this is a time when we learn, we grow and become a better version of ourselves. Late after years, when we shall remember this time it all looks like a sudden. And you’ll say it all passed out in a blink of an eye.
You may have many “may(s)” by that time. So be a kid at heart and be busy in healthy activities. Get close to friends. There’s no reality for the speed of time. It all depends on our activities. It happens because we forget the reality of death. Just keep the realities in your head and rule the time. Be the master.
The concept of time keeps revolving around us like the mystery. When we are young time passes at a gradual rate. However, when we grow up it passes at a faster rate because our mind’s ability to produce images slows down.
The good news is that by keeping our mind active, by engaging ourselves in learning new stuff and having new experiences at every age, we can make time appears to slow down. Just don’t flow with the flow. Keep doing different things as often we can. Learn new stuff. Try new things.
Visit new places. Push yourself. Set a goal, even a minor one and then put in efforts to achieve it. It doesn’t matter how old we get, there are always some first occasions. And our lives can surely involve many numbers of “different”.
As much as possible, take an edge of new and distinctive experiences. So, start focusing on positive past memories, try to live more in present, and hold a positive sight for future- think a future of enthusiasm and optimism. Tackle to use time wisely.
However, there are 365 days in a year no matter what, how fast or slowly time passes, is merely perception in our head.
At the end, keep one thing in the head that it doesn’t matter how many years you live, but it does matter that much lived in the years. So, what are you waiting for? Go, and set your goals and start advancing towards them fully!
It’s your time to make things different!
