06 Dead and 748 injured in 678 RTC in Punjab – Daily Notable

According to the sources of Daily Notable, The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 678 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs). In all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
In these RTCs 09 people died, whereas 748 injured. Out of this, 400 people got serious injuries who shifted to different hospitals. Whereas, Rescue Medical Teams treated 348 minor injured victims at the incident site. Thus reducing the burden of Hospitals.
The majority (71%) involved Motorbikes. Therefore effective enforcement of traffic laws and lane discipline are essential to reduce this an increasing the number of Road Traffic Crashes.
Further, the analysis showed that 284 drivers, 20 underage drivers, 111 pedestrians, and 359 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.
The statistics show that 140 RTCs reported in Lahore. Which affected 140 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 55. In Faisalabad with 56 victims and at third Multan with 54 RTCs and 61 victims.
The details further reveal that 754 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 608 males & 146 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 124 were under 18 years of age, 416 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 214 victims were reported above 40 years of age.

According to the data 623 motorbikes, 82 auto-rickshaws, 52 motorcars, 21 vans, 05 passenger buses, 27 trucks and 72 other types of auto vehicles. And slow-moving carts involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
