Renowned Urdu poet Rahat Indori (70) died in the hospital in Indore on Tuesday afternoon, where he was treated for Covid-19 since Monday, the hospital administration said. He hospitalized in a private hospital in Indore for more than four days of discomfort, hospital officials confirmed.
The Urdu poet, belonged to Indore, won recognition for having given a different dimension to the delivery of Urdu poetry with his unique style. And won acclaim for these both in India and abroad.
Furthermore, he moved to Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Science (SAIMS), Indore ‘s medical school on Sunday, where, by hospital administration, he has tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Senior Congressman Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences by sharing Indori’s work and bidding farewell to him by tweeting, “Alvida, Rahat Indori .”
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh mourned the death of Legendary Urdu poet and lyricist Dr Rahat Indori on Tuesday, saying that he left an indelible mark on people’s hearts.
Rajnath, in a Hindi translated tweet, said, “I am deeply saddened by the death of the popular Urdu poet Rahat Indori. He was an ardent Urdu personality.
“He left an indelible mark on people’s hearts with his memorable poetry. Today, the literary world has suffered a great loss. My condolences to his loved ones at this hour of sorrow, “he added.
moreover, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took Twitter to express his grief. And said that the country had lost a great personality.
Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav also shared a photo with Indori on Twitter to condole his death.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that Indori’s death is a loss of the fearless voice of the country.
Earlier in the day, Indori had taken to twitter to share the story of his illness infection. And called on people to pray to God for him so that he could defeat the virus.
SIAMS pulmonologist Dr. Ravi Doshi said, “Rahat Indori was suffering from multiple diseases, including diabetes and kidney disease. Whereas, his lungs were highly infected with Covid-19. Two days back on the precautionary side, he tested for Covid-19, and his report returned positive on Monday. He had a heart problem about 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday. And he got move to the ventilator support, but he died at 4.30 p.m. – PUNA
