Alhamra Held Condolence Reference for Shahid Jalal – Daily Notable
According to the sources of DN, the Lahore Arts Council held a condolence reference here on Friday in memory of renowned artist Shahid Jalal at Alhamra Art Gallery, the Mall.
The event highlighted Shahid Jalal’s artistic journey, his life’s struggles, work and personality. The event was attended by painter, teacher, art critic Mian Ejaz Al Hassan, Chairperson BOG Lahore Arts Council Moneeza Hashmi, artist and art critic Qudus Mirza, politician Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali, Ex-governor State Bank of Pakistan and VC BU Shaid Qadir, the renowned painter Ejaz Anwar, painter and member BOG LAC and director PANA Amna Pataudi, artist Ghulam Mustafa, cartoonist Javed Iqbal, director art and culture Alhamra Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, politician Atiya Inayatullah, Executive Director LAC Saman Rai and other artists.
Some of the participants in the ceremony narrated the stories of their childhood with Shahid Jalal, and some unveiled the struggle of his youth. Moreover, Director of Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi commemorated Shahid Jalal’s services in his traditional manner.
Furthermore, Mian Ijaz-ul-Hassan said that Shahid Jalal took an active part in the welfare work; he was a true man, a true friend and a great artist, innovation and conservatism were the hallmarks of his personality. Sardar Asif Ahmad Ali said that he had managed his paradise through his work. Amna Pataudi, Ejaz Anwar, Qudus Mirza and other artists also spoke at the event.
Specifically, on the occasion, Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai thanked all the participants at the end of the ceremony and said that an award would given to Shahid Jalal in recognition of his services.
