ACE retrieves 1.84 Billion rupees of state land from Land Mafia – DN

According to the sources of Daily Notable, In a statement issued from the office of the Spokesperson to Anti- Corruption Establishment (ACE), Punjab, the Director General of Punjab’s premier anti-corruption agency Gohar Nafees said that the crackdown against land mafia in the heartlands of Sahiwal, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan has resulted in state land retrieval of billions of rupees.
He said that ACE Sahiwal in an operation launched with the help of local authorities had retrieved over 21 Kanal of commercial land from illegal occupants.
The market value of the said property was estimated to be 1.5 billion rupees.
The land mafia had been occupying the precious land of the Irrigation department without paying a single penny to the public exchequer for the last twenty years.
Nafees said that in another operation by ACE DG Khan earlier yesterday, 5400 kanal of state land amounting to more than 330 million was retrieved from the area of Soori in Rajanpur district. Similarly. Moreover, ACE Bahawalpur reclaimed over 332kanal of state land belonging to Auqaf and religious affairs department. The market value of the retrieved land estimated to 26 million rupees.
Commenting on the crackdown against land grabbers, moreover, Gohar Nafees said that indiscriminate action. Against corrupt elements will go unobstructed throughout Punjab.
