National T20 Cup Updates: Abdullah shafique and Haider Ali shines – DN

The National T20 Cup in Pakistan just got a bit more interesting on Wednesday after Central Punjab batsman, Abdullah Shafique, smashed a century on debut to become the only Pakistani to score a first-class century on debut on his first-class and T20 debuts.
Shafique scored a debut century during his first-class debut last year. His century against Southern Punjab on Wednesday during his first ever T20 match makes him the only Pakistani to score in triple figures during both debuts.
Powered by his unbeaten 102 runs knock, Central Punjab vanquished their opponents by 7 wickets to win the match with Shafique bagging the Player of the Match award.

Born on November 20, 1999 in Sialkot, Shafique is a right-handed batsman who has played for a plethora of teams in just a few years that include the Pakistan Under-19s, Punjab Under-19s, Sialkot, Sialkot Under-16s, Federal Areas, Sialkot Region, Sialkot Under-19s, Central Punjab, Sialkot Region Under 19s, Multan Sultans.
Last year, Shafique made headlines when he smashed a century on debut against Southern Punjab while representing Central Punjab.
A right-handed batsman, he also can also bowl right arm leg break spin.
Erlier in the first Match Batsman Haider Ali of the Northern team dazzled cricket fans on Wednesday with his match-winning performance against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the opening day of the National T20 Cup.

Moreover, in just 48 balls, Haider scored a total of 90 runs, including seven 4s and five 6s. Owing to his contribution — along with his partner Zeeshan Malik who totalled 77 runs off 46 deliveries — Northern won the game by 79 runs.
He was deservingly awarded the man of the match for his brilliant performance.-PUNA
