Saman Rai along three member delegation visited LGES – Daily Notable

The ED LAC Saman Rai along three-member delegation visited the office of Farhan Akhtar, Maj Gen (R) Chairman, the Lahore Garrison Education System (LGES) here on Saturday.
The purpose of visit and meeting was to discuss matters of mutual interest and a discussion regarding an MoU for encouraging male, female students studying into Garrison Academies, schools as well as inter-colleges regarding visual & performing Arts.
Brig Muhamma Javed Shahid, Secretary LGES attended the meeting as well and said that LGES dates back to 1950 and currently 24,000 students are studying into the purpose built campuses equipped with all the facilities.
Chairman LGES expressed his deep appreciation for Art as it helps human brain to develop an artistic being. The Chairman further expressed his determination to make children studying into LGES more creative through the encouragement of their talent and harness it through a proper exposure.

On the occasion, Executive Director of Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai said that most of our population consists of young people, who can sharpen their skills and increase the country’s usefulness. Rai further said that, art is the subject of every individual and society; in this regard Alhamra will achieve more and more cultural achievements in the New Year, for which the struggle is being intensified.
Saman Rai stated that the purpose of the meeting was to resolve the issues before concluding a bilateral agreement between Alhamra and Lahore Garrison Education System.
Both parties expressed their wish to move ahead with a proposed MoU regarding the promotion & projection of art and culture, it was decided that Alhamra and the LGES will achieve their mutual objectives through collaboration.
Secretary LGES Brigadier Muhammad Javed Shahid, Assistant Director Alhamra Khurram Naveel and Naveen Rooma also attended the meeting. Souvenirs were also exchanged at the end. – PUNA
