The English Literary Society on World Poetry Day – Daily Notable

According to the sources of Daily Notable, the English Literary Society in association with The Pakistan Academy of Letters marked World Poetry Day at the office of the academy. On this day an article was also written by Dr Attaulwadood while published in Daily Notable on 21st March, 2022 in which he commented on Ukraine Russia tussle.
The writers said Ukrainian poets and poetesses were influenced by literary movements of Romanticism,

They said poet Ivan Kotliarevsky was considered father of Ukrainian vernacular literature .He was a critic of classic poetry as he ridiculed epic poetry myths, traditional beliefs and ancient legends. His work was full of enthusiasm and determination and raised voice to solve difficulties and problems of common people.
Stepan Rudansky expressed factual and historical realities of Ukraine.
Taras Shevchenks was a folklorist poet. He desired to see his country Ukraine an independent state having its own language, culture and history. He revived the spirit of nationalism in Ukrainians.
Lesya Ukrainka stressed for social justice condemning Russian imperialism.
Lina Kostenko flayed socialist realism expressing passionate poetry.
Olena Teliha ‘s depicted native poems giving way to national consciousness.

Halyna Kruk poems show how Ukrainians suffered constant miseries under foreign occupation.
The writers explained Ukrainian poetry raised voice against state terrorism, violence and violation of fundamental and human rights of Ukrainians.
The poets rapped political high-handedness and war crimes in their land.They resisted autocracy and crimes against humanity.
Prominent among those writers who expressed their views and poems were Dr.Kanwal Feroze, Prof.Rana Ehtisham Rabbani, Anwar ul Haq, Rubia Jilani, Zarqa Naseem Ghalib, Javaid A Chaudhary, Mian Salah Ud din ,Zahid Hassan, Majabeen Malik, Asnath Kanwal , Parveen Wafa Hashmi, Tanzeela Mughal, Surriya Yasmin , Mumtaz Hussain, Shiraz Altaf and Muhammad Jameel.
