Bilawal Bhutto has taken charge of Foreign Office at a time when Pakistan is facing hard challenges at multiple fronts.
- First challenge of Bilawal would be to improve ties with US as controversy surrounding the diplomatic cable seemed to have undermined Pakistan’s relationship with Washington.
- Second challenge would be to improve Pakistan’s relationship with the European Union, a major trading partner of the country.
- Third challenge would be to improve ties with neighbouring India as after India”s move on Kashmir has unsettled the ties.
- Afghanistan is becoming a problem for Pakistan as world suspects Pakistan sheltering Taliban but recent cross border terrorist attacks indicated that ties with the Afghan Taliban are not ideal.
It is not an ideal time for Bilawal but if he can show some progress it would erase alot of doubts regarding his leadership qualities excluding the Bhutto Brand
