According to the sources of Daily Notable, President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar on Thursday took a step forward and wrote to the leaders of all political parties of Pakistan including Pakistan Peoples Party, PMLN, PTI, JUI, JI, ANP and others to come forward and sit for the economy charter.
The letter also mentions that Pakistan is facing steep and multi-dimensional economic challenges and LCCI being a leading business support organization is of the view that consistency in economic policy is important to address the prevailing challenges and move towards sustainable economic growth.
LCCI is well aware of the ongoing economic challenges and is in the process of formulating an economic charter to be shared with respected political party leadership.
The LCCI president said this economic charter will help create a working consensus on a minimum economic governance agenda that political parties can follow as part of their respective manifestos.
Kashif Anwar said that political stability is essential for economic stability. He called for the respective leaders of the political parties to share the economic agenda of the said political party with the LCCI so that it could also be incorporated in the formulation of the unified economy charter.
