According to the sources of Daily Notable, Ajoka is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a gala event at Alhamra on 25 May. The event includes performances of dramatic extracts from Ajoks’s landmark plays, screenings, song and dance, culminating with a qawali performance by eminent Sher Miandad qawal.
Eminent artists who started their career from Ajoka will also attend. They include Savera Nadeem, Mehmood Aslam and Samiya Mumtaz. Indian delegation may not be given visas
Ajoka had also invited renowned theatre personalities from Indian Punjab to join the celebrations. However visa clearance has not been granted till today, despite assurances. The Indian guests include Professor Neelam Man singh and Kewal Dhaliwal. – PUNA
