According to the sources of Daily Notable, under the directive of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the crackdown on metallic kite strings and kite flyers has been intensified across the province, including Lahore, to protect precious human lives and targeted police operations are ongoing in major cities.
Punjab Police spokesperson shared that this year, 4147 cases have been registered across the province in action against kite flying. Legal action has been taken against 4277 suspects involved in kite flying, resulting in their arrest. A total of 244,470 kites and 16,878 metallic kite strings have been seized from the suspects.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed that the crackdown be continued without interruption throughout the province. He emphasized that suspects involved in online kite flying business or secretly by fake names should be apprehended and brought to justice with appropriate punishments.
IG Punjab said that criminals endangering human lives do not deserve any leniency, and targeted operations led by circle officers should be intensified across the province.
