Political instability directly impacts country’s development by causing economic instability, creating security challenges, hindering the social services. Weakening the governance and also effect relationships with other countries as well. Oversea the history of political instability in Pakistan it seems complex and multifaceted. Over the years Pakistan faces various periods of political turmoil. These events involved a major series of short-lived government tenure. Foremost challenge country faces by political instability directly impacts country peace and creates non peaceful environment as Pakistan faced terrorism and extremism as well.
Recently in 2024 Political landscape in Pakistan has been marked by the power struggles between political parties, allegation of corruptions, Political revenge, allegations of rigging, lack of consensus on national key issues. The ongoing political instability emerged back in 2022 when a significant clash erupted between acting government and opposition, leading acting government to transition in to opposition vehemently opposing decisions, and blame game between parties still create chaos in country political landscape.
In Pakistan political instability often stems from political parties on advancing their agenda. This often leads to conflicts where parties engaging in opportunistic alliance with opposing faction and intra party discord to pursue their political goals. Consequently, national institutions become target for manipulation to serve political interests.
The solution of present political instability is critically complex but not impossible at all. With better understanding of political instability root cause, it could be resolved. Addressing political instability is crucial and its important for all parties to prioritize national interest first and for that constructive dialogue is required. Strengthen all democratic institution ensuring all rights whether its judicial reforms or electoral reforms.
Education, freedom from fear need of common people should be prioritized. Respect for all institutions and transparency in country should also be prioritized. Economic reforms by implementing policies that foster economic growth reduce inequality and create opportunities of jobs that could save country future to serve in their own country.
All provinces should be treated equally, unbiased and before personal interests’ country development should be considered first. Pakistan can pave the way for more prosperous stable future all stake holder in country joins hands together for more inclusive and resilient political environment in country. A system that serves both country and its people. It is appropriate that the respect of mandate of other parties is also big factor. On the other hand, Political victimization and fabricated baseless case against rivals’ parties are not suitable at any cost.
