According to the sources of Daily Notable, an emergency meeting of the Joint Action Committee against the controversial defamation bill held at the Lahore Press Club. CPNE President Irshad Ahmed, PFUJ Secretary General and Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, PBA Representative Naveed Kashif, APNS Senior Vice President Imtanan Shahid, CPNE Ayaz Khan, Former President CPNE Kazim Khan and Muhammad Usman participated.
In the meeting controversial defamation bill was strongly condemned and named it as BLACK LAW.
In the meeting, it was decided to start various protests in a phased manner.
Following decisions were made unanimously:
To boycott all the events of government bodies, National /Provincial budgets including parliament and it’s allied parties.
To take effective legal action against the bill in consultation with Political Parties, Human Rights organization and Bar Councils.
United Nations and other International human rights organization will be contacted against the controversial defamation law.
Strong protests are to be arranged in front of the relevant government bodies/ Institutions.
