According to the sources of Daily Notable, Ume Laila Azhar, Executive Director of HomeNet Pakistan, briefed representatives of various newspapers in the media about presenting challenges related to Human Rights Due Diligence to informal workers in the garments and textile sector.
The purpose of the media briefing was to raise awareness about the importance of highlighting challenges related to human rights, especially Home-Based Workers (HBWs) in the informal sector, particularly in the garments and textile sectors.
It will create voice and visibility on the current situation of home based workers. Like proposed amendments in Home Based Workers Act 2023, Social Security PESSI (Punjab) Mechanism etc. Helpline of Homenet Pakistan 042111647111 and Awareness Center of Homenet Pakistan were also discussed. – PUNA
