Puna, Lahore After disscusion of Pakistani officials and Afghan Talibans talks in Istanbul are doomed to fail as Afghan Taliban not agreeing to disarm TTP.
Pakistani government officials on X have accused Afghan Taliban for the failure of talks and mentioned that Taliban have failed to stop TTP (Indian Proxy) to carry out attacks in Pakistan.
Pakistani millitary officials have also mentioned that talks have failed due to the refusal of Taliban to take action against TTP.
US President Donald Trump also mentioned and said that he could end the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan very quickly.
Past friendship
Historically, Pakistan was the primary patron of the Afghan Taliban. Many in Pakistan publicly welcomed the Taliban’s return to power (Including the now Defense Minister of Pakistan Khwaja Muhammad Asif) in August 2021 after the withdrawal of US forces.
But relations have sharply deteriorated since, largely over the TTP, an armed group that emerged in 2007 during the US-led war on terror which has waged a long campaign against Islamabad.
Pakistani point of view
Islamabad accuses Kabul of providing sanctuary not only to the TTP but to other groups, including the Balochistan Liberation Army and the ISIL (ISIS) affiliate in Khorasan Province (ISKP), charges Kabul denies.
The Afghan Taliban have insisted that the TTP is a Pakistani problem, repeatedly arguing that insecurity in Pakistan is a domestic matter. And the Taliban have themselves long viewed the ISKP as enemies.
Consequences
While Pakistan has might in millitary powers the only resolution to this issue is talks as Pakistan can face alot of problems due to the war, In case of war Taliban head can declare Jihad against Pakistan which will engage Afghan youth in Pakistan.
Border tensions against Pakistan has proven well for the Taliban regime as it has grown its popularity in the Afghani people and a full scale war would improve there image in the eyes of common people.
