Life in the Realm of Technological Advancement – Daily Notable
Life, as it crawls through screens, is what we call NORMAL now. Fiction or nonfiction, we have become habitual of seeing life through the frame of four edge screens.
Over past few decades, technological advancement has changed the course of life completely. It has revolutionized our whole life pattern; how we eat, sleep, interact, work, play or anything else. Not a single facet of life is free of its traces.
Everything is a tap or click away whether that’s refrigerator placed in your living room or a computer system in your office, everything has a blight of technology.
The most interesting factor is that it must be counted as one of few blessed revolutions which never has to face drastic and aggressive resistance. It has permeated the lives of people with such smoothness that some are unable to even notice the change, resistance is a far cry.
Technological advancement leaves us with no choice but to accept it and make it a part of our lives. The one who refuse to infiltrate their lives with it anyway are seen as naïve and backward. They are simple counted as ones who mustn’t be a part of respectable strata of society.
If we count the pros and cons of technological advancement then it’s a never-ending debate and whenever this debate has surfaced on any platform worldwide it has always ended on an undecisive point. You can see justifications of its side effects as compelling as its paybacks.
Count the most bulged revolutions; travel eases, communication in blink of eye in any part of world and entertainment industry is a whole new world to light on, all such advancements have benefited mankind and has made life comforting for people without a doubt.
On the contrary if we put a light on the side effects of technological advancement i.e. procrastinated life style, addiction, less in person communication, putting people in the bubble of fictional screen life are some very alarming basic issues, the intensity is escalating with each passing day and the irony is people are actually not bothering to deal with such issues wisely.
In view of the aforementioned situation, its near to impossible to conclude it in black or white. What we can do is to have a thorough analysis on things and identify the patterns which demands control, only then we can benefit from technological advancements in a better manner.
Technological advancement has not only put an ease to individualistic lifestyle but it has turned the course for government and corporate sector. No organization functional in today’s era can free itself from adapting the new technologies.
The trend which actually started from developed states’ organizations is now reaching to underdeveloped states also.
The situation in Pakistan is no different. Pakistan despite counted as one underdeveloped state is fortunately has always shown enough flexibility and determination towards adapting new technologies. Recently a very unique initiative taken by Pakistan’s one of the notable departments; Punjab Food Authority has come into news which have further strengthened my aforementioned opinion.
Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar, Chairman Punjab Food Authority Umer Tanveer butt, Director General Punjab Food Authority recently has inaugurated body worn camera project for food safety officers. According to which food safety officers will wear body cameras while on field inspections.
This camera recording will not only brace the surveillance strategies but also an impressive tool to maintain proofs and record. Another interesting aspect to be added here was that many other departments in Pakistan specifically in Punjab are already using the respective tool for better surveillance and to act more vigilantly. Now that’s what you call a right use of technology.
Technology when used for such causes, only then it serves the right purpose of its invention. Instead of criticizing technological advancement we must look for ways to utilize it in a manner that it benefits us and only benefits us. Not only on organizational level but we also need to find individualistic par.
Be your own regulatory body monitor your usage time and pattern, identify the healthy patterns and adapt them. Living in the realm of technologically advanced world is not everyone’s cup of tea but we have to make it through for the sake of our own sanity.
See through these intertwined patterns and make things linear and clear for you. Don’t entrap yourself with too much complexities, adapt and use technology only when required otherwise avoid specifically its over usage. -PUNA
