According to the sources of Daily Notable, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Alltech Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding with Alltech Pakistan working together on the planet of many climate change, food security and sustainability.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad (SI), Chairman of the Department of Animal Nutrition Prof Dr. Naveed ul Haq of UVAS and CEO Dr. Shahzad Naveed Jadoon and Marketing Manager Obaid-ur-Rehman of Alltech Pakistan signed the MoU at a ceremony held at City Campus.
The ceremony was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, Prof. Dr. Saima, the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Business Management, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azam, UVAS faculty members and officials from Alltech Pakistan.
Prof Dr. Speaking on the occasion, Nasim Ahmad said that this collaboration will be very beneficial for both organizations especially in terms of mutual learning/gathering of experience, innovative knowledge, new ideas and practical skills.
He urged self-sufficiency and increased milk and meat production as a key way to solve Pakistan’s financial crisis. He acknowledged the role of Alltech Pakistan in providing technical and financial assistance to UVAS.
Dr Shahzad Naveed Jadoon said that agriculture is the future and cooperation for a planet of abundance is the only way forward.
According to the MoU, both parties will provide academic and administrative support where needed. They will develop research proposals as well as conduct collaborative R&D projects and Alltech Pakistan will provide internship opportunities to students.
Both parties will jointly organize joint conferences, trainings, workshops, symposia and seminars. Information regarding mutual workshops, symposia and conferences will be shared with students and faculty and intellectual property created during joint activity will also be owned by both organizations etc. – PUNA
