In order to signify the 5th February 2020 Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan Sports Board arranged hockey female and football male matches were played at Outer Track and Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex respectively. The Hockey and Football matches were played between PSB XI Vs Kashmir XI to observe the day.
Dr Fehmida Mirza, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination was the Chief Guest and distributed certificates & trophies to the participants. The President, Pakistan Sports Board expressed unflinching and unwavering support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right of self-determination. While condemning the illegal action of India in occupied Kashmir including detention of youth, political leaders and communication blockade. She also condemned the horrifying violence against women and deplored the continuing restriction on the freedom of expression in the occupied valley, describing it as grass violence of fundamental rights. Dr Fehmida Mirza called upon the UN Security Council to enforce a peaceful settlement of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with its resolution. Amna Imran Khan also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Minister for IPC/Chief Guest for sparing her valuable time for the noble cause of Kashmiris. She also appreciated the sportsmen spirit of the sportsperson and participants who made human hand chain to express their solidarity with the brethren Kashmiris masses.
The Hockey match was played at fast pace, and Kashmir Eleven beat PSB Eleven by 2-1. Haya and Sidra scored goal one each from Kashmir Eleven. Binish scored one goal from PSB Eleven. She played excellent hockey by dribbling & dogging during the match. She also declared best player of match her good performance. The match was supervised by Mr. Wajid and Azeem.
In the Football match, PSB XI outclassed Kashmir XI by 2-1. The goals were scored by Ali Ahmed Mid Fielder and Hussan-e-Alam Defender from PSB XI. Afaq Mid Fielder scored one goal from Kashmir XI. Mr. Tauqeer was the Referee and Ali Nawaz and Shamoon were the Assistant Referees.
Pakistan Sports Board employees and officers, tennis players, swimming team, university students, people from all walks of life, Arshad Mehmood, Senior Hockey Coach, Muhammad Asadullah, Senior Football Coach/Ex-Pakistan Football Captain, Agha Amjadullah, Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Azam Dar, Deputy DGs, Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Waheed Khan, Shazia Ejaz were also present on the occasion.
