Pak-China Joint Air Exercise ‘SHAHEEN-IX’ Starts
Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore
According to the sources of Daily Notable, Pak-China Joint Air Exercise “Shaheen-IX” has started at an Operational Air Base of Pakistan Air Force today. The contingent of People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), specifically comprises of combat Pilots, Air Defence Controllers and technical ground crew is participating in the exercise.
Air Vice Marshal Waqas Ahmed Sulehri, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Operations), Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in addition to Major General Sun Hong, Assistant Chief of Staff, PLAAF jointly witnessed the opening ceremony of the exercise.
Major General Sun Hong said, “The Joint Exercise will improve the actual level of combat training as well as, strengthen practical cooperation between the two Air Forces”.
Air Vice-Marshal Waqas Ahmed Sulehri welcomed the Chinese contingent. He said, “The joint exercise will provide an opportunity to further enhance interoperability of both the Air Forces. Thereby fortifying brotherly relations between the two countries.”
Shaheen-IX is ninth in the series of Joint Air Exercises. Each year on an alternate basis both countries conduct a series of Joint Air Exercises. – PUNA
