According to the sources of Daily Notable, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi revealed the trophy for the 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) yesterday. The trophy unveiling ceremony took place at the Polo Ground, Jillani Park. Mohsin Naqvi received a warm welcome upon his arrival at the ceremony, where he interacted with franchise owners and team captains.
The event commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by the Polo Stars parading onto the ground with the national flag, the PSL flag, and the flags representing all participating teams. Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by franchise owners and captains, unveiled the trophy for the 9th edition of PSL.
Provincial Advisor Wahab Riaz, Commissioner Lahore, Chief Operating Officer of PCB Salman Naseer, former cricketers, and a large gathering of cricket enthusiasts graced the occasion. Speaking to the media, Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism for an exciting tournament ahead. He stated that preparations were underway, with teams beginning to arrive in Lahore for the tournament starting on February 17.
We are fully prepared for the inaugural match, and we anticipate a thrilling tournament for the people of Pakistan,” remarked Chairman PCB. He emphasized the board’s commitment to ensuring PSL 9’s success, with daily briefings and comprehensive efforts to enhance all aspects of the event. “We are dedicated to leaving no stone unturned in making PSL 9 a grand success,” he added.
Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged ongoing changes within the PCB, noting that significant decisions had been made recently. “We are striving to elevate PSL into a premier tournament,” he affirmed. While addressing past challenges and weaknesses, he assured transparency in addressing them. “insha’Allah, the results will be evident, and nothing will be concealed,” he concluded. – PUNA
