The Outrageous Global Water Crisis – Daily Notable
By Editorial Desk, Adina Anwar
For all living objects, a drop of water is synonymous with life itself. People, animals, and plants are not able to survive without water. Have you ever thought why water is necessary for survival? You have to start thinking about it because 60% of your mammal body consists of water and any mammal may survive without water for up to seven days, but not more than it.

Just imagine for a couple of seconds can you live without water? The answer is an emphatic “no”. Water reservoirs of the world are rapidly being stripped off for different reasons which bring us to the crossroads where we have to choose between planets with enough water to keep life intact or a barren, deserted planet with no life at all.
Please start saving water and think about the people who have water scarcity. Today, some 700 million people are living in water scarcity in different countries and regions. By 2025, 1.8 billion people will live in absolute water scarcity. Many countries and regions, and two-thirds of the global population can live in water stress conditions.
Africa In High Water Stress
Almost half of the world’s population, including between 75 million and 250 million people in Africa, will live in areas with high water stress by 2030 with the existing climate-change scenario. Furthermore, water shortages will displace 24 million to 700 million people in some arid and semi-arid places. The most water-stressed countries of any region are in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Here arises the question how can we, as individuals, save water. The answer is that we can play our part however minor it might be. We can turn off the tap when we do not need it, the simplest and most obvious thing that is possible.
Fill our glass of water while brushing our teeth, rather than leaving the tap on. Instead of taking a long bath, take a quick shower; water saved this way is up to 60 gallons. Pouring a full glass of water, but if you can’t drink it completely, don’t spill it just keep it covered and use it when you get thirsty next time. You don’t have to water your plants too much. It will work well to sprinkle the water early in the morning or late in the evening.
It is our duty as the responsible inhabitants of the planet Earth to create awareness about the water shortage which is a ticking bomb for not only the human race but all forms of life on our planet. Ask our relatives and friends to conserve water by letting them realize the enormity of the situation, urging them to use it in an appropriate manner. When you save water, and help in saving water, you can call yourself a Water Hero! Like Amla Ruia, Aabid Surti, Ayyappa Masagi, Rajendra Singh, Shirish Apte.

yes we should be stop wasting water and save for our upcoming generations.
The topic of this article is really good and it requires attention due continuous shortage of water. You have not provided any reference of any researcher or research institution regarding your facts and statistical data.
Secondly individually we can play our part to save water due scarcity of water and continuous downfall of water from this planet but there is also a dire need of policy making regarding shortage of water at domestic, government and international level that how wasted and dirty water can be again useful by filtration system to avoid water shortage worldwide.
There is a filtration system in China where they reproduce dirty and wasted water that would be useful for daily need accept drinking. Hence together we can overcome scarcity, shortage and continuous downfall of water level and also we can save water for upcoming generations.
Yeah you’re right thanks for precious advice next time I assure you that I’ll give references.
And also you’re right this problem also need the attention of policymakers government.

Pakistan ranks third among countries in the world facing extreme watersheds, according to a recent study by the International Monetary Fund ( IMF). The UNDP and Pakistan Water Resources Research Council (PCRWR) reports also warn the authorities of a total scarcity of water in the Southern Asian country by 2025. Don’t you think that its an alarming situation that’s why i choice this topic for my article. Pakistan reaching an alarming level, it could ‘run dry’ by 2025. The authorities remain negligent about the crisis that poses a serious threat to the stability of the country, reports Shah Meer Baloch in 2018.
