According to the sources of Daily Notable, Caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram participated as a special guest in the awareness conference and walk held in connection with World Epilepsy Awareness Day at Children’s Hospital Lahore.
A large number of students, children affected by epilepsy and their parents participated. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem and others paid tribute to the medical services of the caretaker provincial health minister Dr. Javed Akram.
In his address to the participants of the awareness conference, the caretaker provincial health minister, Dr. Javed Akram, said that out of every 1,000 patients in Pakistan, 9 people suffer from epilepsy. All over the world, the month of February is celebrated to spread awareness about epilepsy in the society.He said that there are many types of epilepsy.
Due to one of the parents being affected by epilepsy, there is a 40% chance of the child being affected. I know many people who are living a successful life despite suffering from epilepsy. Epilepsy is a curable disease. Epilepsy is more common in countries like Asia, America and Africa.
The caretaker provincial health minister, Dr. Javed Akram, further said that there is a need to build more children’s hospitals in Punjab. A foundation should be established to control epilepsy in Pakistan, in which my full cooperation will continue. When a person takes God’s part in a good work, success is assured. Allah Almighty will keep the children of the person who improves someone’s child.
On this occasion, the Managing Director of Children’s Hospital Lahore Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem said that Children’s Hospital Lahore is at the forefront in treating children. According to the research, five lakh children are suffering from epilepsy in Punjab. – PUNA
